My stay at the hotel was a mix of great aspects and a few challenges. The beautifully decorated and clean rooms provided a comfortable retreat after a tough first night in a noisy room facing a busy street. The service was efficient and friendly overall, although some areas needed improvement. The location had its perks but also posed some inconveniences. Dining offered delicious options, although there were a few hiccups. The facilities were decent, enhancing my overall experience.

The hotel had a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, though comfortable, were noisy due to their proximity to a busy road, leading to a challenging first night. The staff was helpful, but there were issues with noise and room location near the small lift.

Rooms

Despite the initial noise issue near a busy road and the location next to some bedrooms causing disturbance, the rooms eventually provided comfort once we changed to a quieter room. The staff was helpful and accommodating.

Upon entering the bedroom, I initially thought a window was open due to the noise from the busy main road, which disturbed our sleep on and off during the night. However, the evening meal was very enjoyable with a delicious starter and perfectly cooked steak and homemade chips. The breakfast was equally impressive with a good selection, especially the excellent cappuccinos. The rooms need refurbishment and a bit of paint, and the sloped ceiling made it easy to bump my head, but overall, it was a cozy stay.

The hotel is just inside Kendal, a bit far from the center but with good parking options. A smart pub nearby offers great food at a lower price. The setting, just a mile from Kendal town and close to Lake Windermere, suits short stays to explore the area.
